| 1. Written by JT on March 29, 2011 from alpena, michigan, US These offers from furniture, Appliance stores, etc for no interest until ??? are typically handled via a credit card, typically resticted in use to one store or chain. By law, you should have recieved a disclosure of the terms BEFORE you signed anything. If not, they must give you the option to cancel the transaction upon reciept of the terms. As with most, if not all, credit cards, if you make 2 or more payments in one billing cycle, it counts the same as if you only made one payment. It does NOT remove the obligation to make a minimum payment the next. Typically, a minimum monthly payment is required. The sales person SHOULD have mentioned that, but regardless, it would have been spelled out in the terms. As for interest accumulating, yep it does. From the day you made the purchase. BUT, it is not added to the balance until the end of the term. As long as you make the minimum monthly payments, and pay it off in full by the end of the promotion, the interest is waived. If you miss a payment or do not pay it off in full, then the interest is added for the full term from date of purchase. I know they're not fun reading, but most of these complaints could be avoided by reading the agreement before signing. Regardless, blaming Ashley for the problems is misdirected when the problems seem to be with citifinancial and not the furniture company. |
| 2. Written by Esmer on March 8, 2011 from weslaco, texas, US I have not had any problems with Citi. Get on auto withdrawal. You decide the amount. It's great. No late fee and if you forget, no worries because they are automatically deducted from your acct. Just remember to change the amount on your last payment if it's different and remember to cancel the last month. good luck |

| 5. Written by Nelda Sistrunk on February 16, 2011 from mt. laurel, new jersey, US i haven't had any problems with paying my bill, but when i originally purchased my furniture, I was told no interest and nothing down. ( I was such a fool!) The sales person did not go over any payment at all. I was just told I had to pay it by a certain time. Then I received a bill in the mail with a minimum payment... Boy was I surprised! I wouldn't have bought it if I had known up front. I've learned a very valuble lesson. ![]() |
| 6. Written by you guys are over reacting on January 26, 2011 from -, -, US dont take out credit if you dont know the terms, you all sound like a bunch of children..read the fine line. I just want to find out how to pay this thing online, it is literally the only bill I have to write a check for and I never received this months statement. It is hard to get anyone on the phone and if you, without a account number not much you can do. Funny thing is I have a Citi credit card and citi loan thru HHgregg, yet nothing can be streamlined...wtf |
7. Written by agreed on January 20, 2011 from orlando, florida, US Worst experience I ever had with a company. From the calls, to the non-user friendly billing, to the rediculous customer service skills. I will NEVER recommend anyone to buy through Ashley! Thankfully I have already saved 4 people from making the same mistake we all did. Take heed people SHOP ELSEWHERE!!! |

Written by Ashley Furniture Failure to Di on December 7, 2010 from minneapolis, minnesota, US I bought Ashley Furniture on a nothing down pay in January sale., I waited for my bill from "Ashley Funiture" it never came so a few days into January I called "Ashley Furniture" and they said the billing goes through Citi Financial.. arggg I saw "Citi" paperwork in the mail, but thought it was "JUNK" mail since I did not request anything of "Citi" who knew, so I call Citi and Now I'm late, they wouldn't budge and they are charging me 30% Interest ARGGGGG |
| 9. Written by Allen on October 3, 2010 from milwaukee, wisconsin, US I make my payments online with citibank to help myself avoid their foolishness. The sales lady gave me the online billing before I walked out the door. I got online before I even received my bill thanks to her, but I had no idea these things were going on I thank everyone for their post and I will be extra careful to get this stuff a paid within the cycle and before the due date. Online works best for me |
| 10. Written by Allen on October 3, 2010 from milwaukee, wisconsin, US In terms of paying in a cycle that happened to me with capitalone when I paid a couple of days early even though I made an earlier payment. They said it is in their policy, but the person didn't send it to me when I asked. I kept calling and told the person i would keep calling until I spoke to a manager. Finally he gave in an apparently spoke to a manager hmm not sure if he really did they removed the late Fee. I was highly upset and had to keep talking myself down so I wouldn't get to bent out of shape while trying to get this late fee off my bill because I made two payments in one billing cycle i too was on a budget. That is a ridiculous policy |
